RN-ICU at Wythe County Community Hospital summary:
The RN-ICU provides direct patient care to critically ill patients, employing the nursing process and adhering to practice standards. This role requires strong critical thinking skills, the ability to work under pressure, and the flexibility to float across clinical areas. A minimum of one year of previous ICU or CCU experience is preferred, along with necessary certifications and a license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Virginia.
Description:
*$20,000 Sign on Bonus and Relocation Assistance available for qualifying candidate*
*Night Shift*
Provides direct patient care to acutely and critically ill patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Reports to: Director of ICUQualifications:
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree preferred
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Ability to accept regular on-call assignments for regularly scheduled shifts when acuity and/or census indicates need. Will be available to report to facility within 30 minutes of notification. This status will be determined by Department Director, House Supervisor, or Administrator on call.
Ability to float to various clinical areas, where qualified and competent.
Required Certifications/Licensure
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and
PALS within 90 days of hire
Handle with Care within one year from date of hire
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of VA or Compact licensure as a Registered Nurse which includes the Commonwealth of VA, and in good standing with the Board.
Minimum Work Experience
One year of previous ICU or CCU experience strongly preferred.
