Job Description:
Overview: The Radiologic Computed Tomography Technologist is
responsible for providing high-quality patient care during Computed
Tomography (CT) procedures and diagnostic imaging examinations
using approved workflows and procedural protocols. Working under
direct supervision, this position uses specialized computerized
x-ray equipment to produce cross sectional images of the human
anatomy which aid radiologists in diagnosing a wide variety of
diseases and disorders.
Talent Pool; Allied Health Responsibilities:
Performs routine and special CT and diagnostic exams adhering to
established protocols to minimize additional imaging and limit
radiation dose, maintaining exam productivity within established
benchmarks.
Follows instructions from physicians regarding which area of the
patient?s body needs imaging.
Talks the patient through the procedure and answer questions to
lower their anxiety and increase their understanding of the
procedure.
Positions the patient correctly and adjusts the imaging equipment
to the specified position to create quality images of specific
parts of the body.
Reviews and assesses patient medical histories to determine
appropriate imaging parameters for accurate results.
Operates and maintains advanced CT equipment, adhering to safety
protocols and conducting regular maintenance checks to ensure
precise and reliable imaging results.
Records and documents all CT scans and associated information in
Computerized Health Information (CHL) and Picture Archiving and
Communication System (PACS), verifying charges and addressing
discrepancies for smooth workflow.
Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
EDUCATION:Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Graduate of
a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program
EXPERIENCE:
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required:
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
Will accept any of the licenses below: ARRT: RT(R)(CT),
RT(N)(CT)NMTCB: CNMT, NMTCB(CT)Combination: ARRT RT(N) and
