Compensation dependent on experience
Position Summary
The Emergency Services Clinician (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Resident)
LMHP/LMHP-E will respond to requests from the agency and the
community for crisis intervention services, to include limited-term
crisis Intervention information and referral to community
resources. and/or pre-admission screening for inpatient psychiatric
and substance abuse treatment. This position will also develop
working relationships with area hospitals, schools, social
services, law enforcement and other community partners; by actively
providing consultation, support and education.
Required Education and Experience
Master's Degree from a program that prepares individuals to
practice counseling (60-hr Master's Program), which is offered by a
college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency.

No experience is required. Experience with the adults in an
outpatient setting is preferred.
Related credentials: Resident in Professional Counseling,
Supervisee in Clinical Social Work, Resident in Licensed Marriage,
Family Therapy, Resident in Substance Abuse Treatment, or
eligibility to apply for residency. Note: New hires will be
expected to apply for clinical supervision and residency within 30
days of hire.
Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of evidence-based practices to include but not limited
to; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); emergency interventions;
family, group, and individual therapies;, psychosocial education;
risk assessments; sex offender treatment; substance abuse
interventions; etc.
Knowledge of community mental health and public health in order to
provide advocacy and enhance an individual's treatment and access
to community resources.
Knowledge of the principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and
literature related to mental health, intellectual disabilities and
substance abuse
Knowledge of psychiatric/medical medications/treatments.
Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver's license. May be
called upon to travel to any Horizon worksite; transport clients,
provide services to client @other locations. Regular attendance at
trainings and Horizon meetings may require travel to a variety of
Horizon sites; Ability to participate in and successfully pass
behavioral intervention training; includes both verbal
de-escalation skills and physical skills techniques to be utilized
with consumers as needed.
